Here in Central Pennsylvania we are fortunate to have such an active and enthusiastic community of students groups and organizations that express an interest in volunteering in the local region and more recently at the APS and the APRL. One of these student groups was here this weekend volunteering at the APS for the first time, the Penn State Hillel BKind student organization.

Established in 1936, the Penn State Hillel BKind represents the approximately 5,000 Jewish students at the university. Their mission is to enrich the lives of Jewish students on campus as well the Jewish community worldwide by pursuing tzedek (social justice) and tikkun olam (repairing the world) . As part of a Day of Service four students took time out of their weekends to volunteer with us here in the library.
The volunteers worked on packaging used and mint stamps for use in the APS Gift Shop and the Education Department. With their volunteer efforts over the weekend they assisted us in promoting the hobby to others and contributed to our goal of outreach to new collectors.
Thanks again to the Penn State Hillel student volunteers!
