Swiss philately research material added to APRL Archives

Harlan Stone Papers finding aidNoted scholar of Swiss philately Harlan Stone donated his research materials to the APRL. These papers are now stored with the APRL Clipping Files in our new compact shelving where they will add to material from Ernest Kehr (a fellow Switzerland collector), Belmont Faries, Forrest Ellis, John Stark, and others.

A finding aid to the collection, prepared by Rudy Keller, a Switzerland collector and member of the American Helvetia Philatelic Society, and APRL intern Michael Wilson is accessible online and provides more detailed information about the contents of the collection.

We are grateful to Harlan Stone for his generous donation of research material, and also to Rudy Keller for volunteering his time and expertise. Michael Wilson used his experience completing this finding aid as a springboard to working on a much larger archival project, the Tom Alexander collection.

The APRL has many more archival collections awaiting the creation of finding aids to make them fully available to researchers. If you are interested in creating a finding aid and available to spend some time in the library, contact me for more information. I’ll help match your skills, interests, and available time with one of our collections.
