Rabbis on Stamps

The Jewish World in StampsRecently, a library patron sent me a link to Rabbis on Stamps, a collection of images from the Leiman Library, a private collection of Judaica. This is a great resource for topical collectors from a non-philatelic source.

The Leiman Library’s home page gives an introduction to the Rabbis on Stamps collection.

Library patrons who search the APRL Online Catalog for “Judaica” will now find this online resource listed, in addition to books and journal articles.

  1. I would particularly recommend John Henry Richter’s Judaica On Postage Stamps. The introductory material is very helpful for any topical collector. Richter was actively involved with the American Topical Association. Richter who was a librarian was also an active collector of libraries and librarians on stamps which is how I became aware of his work. The APRL has two copies of Richter’s book which can be borrowed throught the mail. The Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library also has a copy.
